The 2019 Design Summit is an opportunity for design professionals across many industries to invest in themselves by taking advantage of a variety of online sessions from the comfort of their own homes or offices.  

​

This year’s summit will focus on "design for life"  which is how design can improve the life of those who you build for.  Push the envelope with your design and inspire your audiences.

​

Here are some examples:

​

  • Are you an instructional designer, how can you create training materials that impact and improve the lives of your learners?

  • Are you a graphic designer, how can you create materials that inspire and promote the improvement of the lives of your audience.
     

If you are a design professional, consider submitting a proposal about an innovative topic in on of the following areas: 

  • Digital Design

  • Instructional Design

  • Web Design

  • Graphic Design - basic to advanced

  • Design Thinking

  • January 28, 2019 – Call for Speakers Opens to Public

  • April 05, 2019 – Deadline to Submit Presentation Topic and Description

  • April 30, 2019 – Submit Presentation Outline

  • May 06, 2019 – Registration Opens to the Public

  • May 24, 2019 – Submit Presentation PowerPoint of Visual Aids for Review

  • May 27 – July 05, 2019 – Recording Session with Northlake Professional Group, LLC.

  • July 18-19, 2019 – 2019 Design Summit

 

Presentation Guidelines
Your presentation will be pre-recorded and will be launched on the conference site during your presentation slot.  The audience will be able to chat through comments and a forum on your presentation page.  You should plan to be available during your session to moderate the forum area to answer any potential questions.

 

Presentation should: 

  • Be 30 – 45 minutes in length

  • Adhere to one of the suggested topics unless otherwise approved

  • Come from real-life experience

  • Include best practices for developing the skill presented  

  • Conclude with a challenge.  This challenge should be a technique your audience can practice or a homework activity to further learning.
     

You may include a bit of solicitation about your business or professional service, if applicable, but it should be limited to less than 10% of your presentation. 

 

Your initial presentation proposal should include:

  • A proposed title for your presentation

  • A high-level description of your presentation

  • A photo of yourself (doesn’t have to be a professional headshot) which can be added to the online program 

  • A short bio about yourself and your experience with the topic

  • Your contact information, if you would like it added to your presentation description
